Philosophy

  • We are committed to the organic movement and the relationship between soil, food, and human health.
  • We believe people should eat local because that means eating fresh food seasonally and working in harmony with nature.
  • Integrity is key – we want to build the utmost trust with our customers and producers based on the principles of freedom, equality, and cooperation.
  • We believe in trading fairly and paying organic growers a price reflecting the true cost of producing and distributing the food.
  • We are proud to be a locally owned business and part of a wider community and local food network.
  • We are unique because we source directly from certified organic growers and producers and let customers know the origin and certification of the food.
  • We live by the garden to plate concept and encourage customers to grow their own food. We run educational workshops, and have an organic gardening section in store.
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! We reduce unnecessary consumption and reuse wherever possible throughout our operation. We recycle when these two options have been exhausted.
  • Buy as little or as much as you like. By making our wholefoods, spices, teas and legumes available in bulk we make it possible for you to choose to buy a little bit or a large bit. It reduces packaging and because of this, lowers the cost passed onto you!
  • We aim to employ people from diverse backgrounds with an interest in growing, production and preparation of organic food.
  • We run workshops and have educational signage around the store to help you learn more about growing and preparing organically produced food.
  • We aim to run a commercially viable business – so we can continue to provide this valuable service to the community.
