Our Team
Mark & Rayna - Owners
Rayna and Mark Dickson have owned Taste Nature since 2003. Mark can often be found in the store, while Rayna works behind the scenes. Together they are more passionate than ever about ensuring the quality and range of organic food available for the Otago community and committed to building a sound business model to achieve this.
Kitchen
The Kitchen team keep our home fires burning producing gorgeous edibles and products for our eatery and store. What more can we say, they are our kitchen angels. Roz is in charge and is supported here by Jaala and Joanna.
Produce
These three – Mark, Sally & Danielle, have a tireless job – they keep the constant supply of fresh certified organic produce coming through the shop daily. They know our primary producers well and make sure that the rewards of the hard work they have all put in is passed onto you, the customer!
Garden
This is some of the current crew – the regular gardeners and harvesters who work on contract for us and whose job it is to get the lovely produce grown on the land into the store for you.
Customer Orders
Customer orders are packed on Wednesdays. Esther or Wibke are available throughout the week to answer questions and take your order by phone or email. They pack produce boxes and personalised orders to be delivered in Dunedin on Wednesdays and out of town on Thursdays.
Store
We have a great team of passionate folk working under Julie’s guidance in our store. They are all interested in good food and are there to make sure that you have a positive experience when visiting us. Too many to name and photograph, but here we have Esther, Julie, Wibke and Sally.
Storeroom
Mariya leads the storeroom team. She investigates all new products for the scrutiny of our purchasing group and ensures that inwards and outwards goods run smoothly. Shop staff assist Mariya in getting the amazing array of products onto the shelves and in keeping the bulk products topped up and packed down for you.
Office
The behind the scenes work at Taste Nature is as important as our front of house. Danielle and Rayna ensure that things run smoothly, that our suppliers are paid on time and that we meet all the necessary regulations and certification requirements. Not the most glamorous jobs in the place, but vital ones!
Our Baker
This is Mark Connor, our early morning baker! Mark ran Tangente Bakery and Cafe in Moray Place for many years and has been baking bread (and other baked goodies) at Taste Nature on Mondays and Thursdays for the past five years.
